sudden realization

so i have been rockin' out with my...socks out to old favourites like Gn'R and Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. stuff i haven't listened to in aeons. it is good upbeat, getting ready to teach music, granted. but i had a moment yesterday where i realized--that stuff was popular when i was in jr. high. the majority of my students are middle school aged. am i subconsciously trying to channel that energy into my teaching? who knows. i do know i appreciate all that stuff so much more than the angst driven, whiny ass stuff that passes for rock these days.

so now i'm wondering...what music takes you right back to jr.high? i'm just a little bi-curious :P

on another note, i have made a wall of rodents on my cabinets above my desk. i have a chinchilla, a lemur, three baby raccoons, a squirrel and a cartoon of a rat with sunglasses. it makes me smile every time i see it. trying to think of some more rodents to add to the abundant cuteness that is 'rodent love'. and, yes, i've lost it. at least in the process of losing it.

time to take some coffee shots and contemplate dreams. at least how to get a roomful of kids to talk about dreams using the present perfect tense. joyfun.
